Berry Bread Pudding

A Holiday dessert that is sure to please the entire family.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs lightly beaten
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 12 slices sandwich bread cut in cubes and dried
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup dried cranberries

Vanilla Sauce

  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Whisk together eggs, white and brown sugar, butter, milk, and cream
  3. Gently toss bread cubes, fresh and dried cranberries with the egg mixture. Allow to sit about ten minutes stirring occasionally.
  4. Spread into a greased 9×13 pan and bake 30 minutes. Cover and bake additional 20–25 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Vanilla Sauce

  1. Whisk all sauce ingredients together.
  2. Place on the stove and whisk over medium heat until boiling.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
