Valentine’s Dinner for Two

3 recipes for the perfect romantic dinner! These recipes will make a wonderful dinner just for the two of you. Surprise your special someone with candles and this delicious meal!

Maple SalmonIngredients
¼ cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove chopped garlic
¼ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound salmon

Directions
In a small bowl mix maple syrup, soy sauce and seasoning. Place salmon in shallow glass baking dish, remove skin from salmon and cover both sides of fish with mixture, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes or more. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees and place baking dish in oven uncovered and bake 20 minutes.

Rice PilafIngredients
1 Tablespoon butter
¼ cup diced carrots
¼ cup diced celery
¼ cup diced onions (optional)
1 clove diced garlic
1 cup chicken broth
½ cup uncooked rice

Directions
In a pot sauté butter garlic, carrots, celery and onions. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil then add in rice. Reduce flame to simmer and cover. In about 20 minutes liquid should be absorbed; let stand 5 minutes and serve.

Asparagus
Take one bunch of asparagus and cut off the bottom of each stalk about 1 inch from the bottom. Place asparagus in pot of boiling water for about 4 minutes or until tender, drain and rinse in cold water. Melt 1 ounce of butter in saute pan with 1 clove of diced garlic, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and salt and pepper to taste. Add asparagus and cook until hot will take about 4 minute.
