Chocolate Pecan Squares

These pecan squares are super tasty and the PERFECT bring-along for spring picnics, cookouts and potlucks.

Ingredients
1 cup flour
½ cup sugar
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter
12 ounces chocolate chips

1 cup corn syrup
3 eggs
1/3 cup sugar
¼ cup butter
½ tsp. salt
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions
Combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Mix in 1/3 cup soft butter with a fork until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press evenly into foil lined and greased 13 by 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes.In a double boiler melt chocolate. In a separate bowl combine corn syrup, eggs, sugar, ¼ cup melted butter and salt beat well. Then combine this mixture with the melted chocolate and stir in pecans. Pour pecan filling over warm crust and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into 2 inch squares.
