Slow Cooker Honey BBQ Pulled Pork

Sweet, smoky, and fall-apart tender, this pulled pork makes an easy summertime meal for sandwiches, sliders, or loaded baked potatoes.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 8 hours
Serving Size: 8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3–4 lb boneless pork shoulder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Buns, coleslaw, or pickles for serving

Instructions:

  1. Season the pork with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Place the sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker and set the pork on top.
  3. Whisk together the barbecue sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the pork.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart.
  6. Remove the pork, shred it with two forks, and discard excess fat.
  7. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir it into the sauce.
  8. Serve on buns with coleslaw or pickles.

Pro tip: Make the pork a day ahead and reheat it in the slow cooker for an easy party or weekend meal.
