Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1-2 jalapeños, finely chopped (adjust for heat preference)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: chopped green onions, shredded cheddar, sour cream
Instructions:
- Brown the beef in a large pot over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic, cook until onions are soft.
- Stir in beans, tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and jalapeños.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook, uncovered, for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot with suggested toppings.
