Spicy Beef Chili

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1-2 jalapeños, finely chopped (adjust for heat preference)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped green onions, shredded cheddar, sour cream

Instructions:

  1. Brown the beef in a large pot over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cook until onions are soft.
  3. Stir in beans, tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and jalapeños.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook, uncovered, for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot with suggested toppings.
