A Holiday dessert that is sure to please the entire family.
Ingredients
- 4 eggs lightly beaten
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 3 cups whole milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 12 slices sandwich bread cut in cubes and dried
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- ½ cup dried cranberries
Vanilla Sauce
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Whisk together eggs, white and brown sugar, butter, milk, and cream
- Gently toss bread cubes, fresh and dried cranberries with the egg mixture. Allow to sit about ten minutes stirring occasionally.
- Spread into a greased 9×13 pan and bake 30 minutes. Cover and bake additional 20–25 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Vanilla Sauce
- Whisk all sauce ingredients together.
- Place on the stove and whisk over medium heat until boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
