French Toast Pigs in a Blanket

Sweet and savory come together in this pigs in a blanket mod to wow your taste buds. It’s maple sausage links wrapped in french toast…

Ingredients:
12 pork breakfast sausage links fully cooked
6 large eggs
¾ cup milk
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch kosher salt
Pinch pepper
12 slices potato bread
4 tablespoons butter
Maple syrup for dipping

Directions:

Step 1: Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Trim each slice of bread into a 2 by 4 inch rectangle, and then flatten slightly with your fingertips. Starting at a short end, roll each piece of bread around a sausage, pressing firmly to seal. Transfer to the bowl of egg mixture and soak for a couple of minutes.

Step 2: Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. When butter is melted and place 6 of the bread sausages and cook turning occasionally until golden brown. Repeat this process with the remaining sausages ten dust with powder sugar and serve with maple syrup.
