Popcorn Balls

When I was a kid and went trick or treating I loved it when I got a popcorn ball. You don’t see them very often but when I do it makes me smile. So if you want to make me a treat here is a simple recipe. – Bon Appetit! Larry G.

Ingredients ¾ cup light brown syrup ¼ cup margarine 2 teaspoons cold water 2 5/8 cups powder sugar 1 cup marshmallows 5 quarts plain popped popcorn

Directions In a saucepan over medium heat combine the corn syrup, margarine, water, sugar and marshmallows, bring to a boil. Carefully combine the hot mixture with the popcorn coating each kernel. Grease hands with vegetable shorting and quickly shape the coated popcorn into balls before it cools. Wrap with plastic wrap and store at room temperature.
